Team:

As the lead media chair of a team of three, I plan & create the posts that build our team’s public image.

As a competitive sports team, most of our following on our Instagram page comes from the following groups:

  • Skaters from other collegiate teams. As the collegiate skating community is quite close-knit, many of our followers are members of other teams across the US.

  • Our team’s competitors, alumni, and friends. The current and previous members of our small competitive team, as well as their friends, follow us as well.

  • Non-members expressing interest. Many of our followers are interested students: either high school juniors looking into collegiate skating or UCSD students curious about the team.

Our target audience & mission:

Key Posts:

Our media team’s board introduction post, created using Procreate. I aimed to highlight creativity & trendiness to draw our audience’s attention to our professional photos.

For our club’s two-part collab with UCSD’s roller skating club, I combined our teams’ clean and retro aesthetics by incorporating muted shades of brighter colors, along with a new groovy font.

Important information is highlighted, along with a clear call to action to catch the attention of students scrolling through their endless social media feeds.

For our club’s quarterly Skate Night, we create themes to pique the interest of users scrolling by.

This Skate Night was winter themed, so I added a pop of color with the scarf to create a cozy winter vibe that would capture viewers.
